Risk assessment of mental stress

Risk assessment of mental stress

Risk Assessment mental stress is a duty of the employer
It is undisputed today that the psyche plays an important role in occupational health. How great is the time pressure? Is it possible to work without disturbing interruptions? How much support do superiors provide?
Framework conditions such as these affect individual employees; they promote their well-being - but they can also endanger health.
Companies are therefore obliged to address psychological stress factors in the legally required risk assessment. Since 2013, this requirement has been explicitly included in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Work without mental stress is just as unthinkable and undesirable as work without any physical strain. However, just as physical stress can be hazardous to health, mental stress at work can also have harmful effects on health, for example, if the demands made on time and performance are constantly high or if shift work is unfavourably organised.

It is therefore necessary to determine the psychological stress of the work in the risk assessment.
